Today is the 90th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. The streets were completely crowded. In the horizon of Bağdat Caddesi (Asian side) you could see never ending candles with Ataturk pictures in the air, and a red sea of flags. There's no doubt that the people in Turkey (Istanbul) are very effusive about their own national identity. They are all strongly proud of their Nation, and they celebrate it.


Hoje, dia 29 de Outubro, é o 90º aniversário da República na Turquia. Um mar de gente reuniu-se na rua de Bağdat (avenida principal no lado Asiático de Istambul) para celebrar a implantação da república e o herói da independência, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Temos vindo a constatar, por várias vezes, que o povo Turco, para além de caloroso e unido, é bastante patriota e efusivo nas celebrações.
